Full job description

Advance your corporate finance career with Commercial International Bank (CIB) as a Corporate Banking Specialist at the Giza Head Office. Manage high-value corporate client facilities, execute critical portfolio transactions, and ensure seamless credit compliance for Egypt’s leading private bank.

Core Responsibilities

  • Corporate Account Management: Maintain updated records of client facility structures, terms and conditions, pricing, fees, and commissions to ensure accurate servicing across all assigned accounts.
  • Daily Position & Balance Monitoring: Monitor customer credit positions daily against approved limits, initiating required transfers and bookings to cover overdrawn accounts in line with facility documentation.
  • Credit Referral & Authority Matrix Routing: Receive operational credit referrals from branch networks, assessing validity and escalating to appropriate approving bodies per the bank’s authority matrix.
  • Financial Reporting & Tracking: Generate essential corporate portfolio reports, including Outstanding Direct & Contingent facilities, FS Loan Loss, FCY Tracking, and Foreign Currency Sold statements.
  • Credit Restructuring Support: Process line-restructuring memos to accommodate client operational requests within their approved limits while coordinating with back-office units to ensure fast Turnaround Time (TAT).
  • Regulatory & CBE Compliance: Adhere strictly to Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) regulations, banking laws, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards, and CIB’s internal Credit Policy Guide.

Required Qualifications

  • Academic Standing: Must hold an accredited Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or an equivalent commercial discipline.
  • Experience Level: Open to fresh graduates and junior professionals with 0 to 2 years of experience (prior exposure to banking operations is considered a strong added value).
  • Linguistic Proficiency: Excellent command of English and Arabic (spoken and written); proficiency in a third language is considered a plus.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Strong computer literacy, analytical capabilities, and high organizational skills to manage complex corporate data and financial reports.
  • Workplace Resilience: Demonstrated ability to work under tight corporate deadlines, manage time effectively, and collaborate across diverse internal bank departments.

Technical Edge: Why Direct & Contingent Facility Tracking matters in Corporate Banking?

Operating within CIB’s Corporate Banking division requires understanding the structural differences between funded (Direct) and non-funded (Contingent) credit facilities. Direct credit involves immediate liquidity outlays (such as overdrafts and term loans), while contingent facilities involve off-balance-sheet commitments like Letters of Credit (LCs) and Letters of Guarantee (LGs). A Corporate Banking Specialist must meticulously track both categories alongside Foreign Currency (FCY) exposures. If a specialist miscalculates an overdrawn limit or misroutes an operational referral on a multimillion-pound line, the bank faces capital adequacy discrepancies and audit penalties under Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) directives. Mastering real-time portfolio monitoring and authority matrix escalations ensures corporate clients maintain uninterrupted operational liquidity while protecting the bank’s capital reserves.

Recru Eg Golden Advice for the Interview

When interviewing for the Corporate Banking Specialist position at CIB, the assessment panel will evaluate your grasp of credit administration and cross-departmental coordination. Do not give a generic answer about “customer service.” You must demonstrate an understanding of Credit Limits, Overdraft Coverages, and the CBE Regulatory Matrix. If asked how you would handle an assigned corporate client whose account is unexpectedly overdrawn beyond their approved limit, outline your structured workflow: “I would first review the client’s facility agreement to verify available sub-limits or secondary lines that can be utilized to cover the overrun. Next, I would check if any pending incoming transfers or FCY conversions exist on the system. If an exception approval is required, I would prepare a formal credit memo with full documentation and route it immediately through the designated authority matrix, keeping the relationship manager updated to ensure zero operational delay for the client.”
