Launch your industrial engineering career with Procter & Gamble’s paid Summer Internship at the fully automated 6th of October Plant. Take Day-1 ownership of high-impact manufacturing projects to optimize global FMCG production, reduce downtime, and drive sustainable operational solutions.
Packing Line Optimization: Conduct critical studies on performance loss to systematically increase packing effectiveness by drastically reducing changeover timings and equipment downtime.
Chemical Making & Process Automation: Simplify manufacturing processes and reduce formula change times to ensure large-scale, highly flexible production directly from R&D recipes.
Quality Assurance & Validation: Develop strict quality indicators, validate new equipment prior to mass production, and rigorously investigate manufacturing “non-standards” to establish actionable improvement plans.
HSE & Sustainable Engineering: Execute high-level analytical studies on site energy and water consumption to propose sustainable, cost-reducing environmental management and waste destruction solutions.
Equipment Start-up & Training: Work directly on the factory floor to install and start up new automated equipment while creating technical learning programs to upskill machine operators and team leaders.
Graduation Cohort: Must be currently enrolled in an Engineering Bachelor’s degree, officially scheduled to graduate strictly in either December 2026 or June 2027.
Technical Excellence: Demonstrate absolute technical rigor in executing defined operational plans and solving complex manufacturing problems on the production floor.
Analytical Capacity: Exhibit the strong capacity to analyze physical production situations, innovate rapid mechanical solutions, and successfully reapply those successes across different lines.
Linguistic Proficiency: Possess a very good command of the English language to effectively collaborate with diverse, cross-functional multinational plant teams.
Time Commitment: Be fully available to commit to a full-time, on-site internship schedule at the 6th of October City plant with a competitive compensation package.
Operating fully automated plants for a global FMCG giant like P&G requires a relentless focus on minimizing waste. The job description heavily emphasizes “reducing timing of changeover” and “decreasing downtime.” In high-speed manufacturing, achieving these goals relies on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean continuous improvement methodologies. An engineering intern who understands how to conduct a root-cause analysis on an unexpected equipment stoppage—accurately identifying whether the performance loss is due to mechanical failure, operator skill gaps, or poor organizational setup—directly impacts the plant’s Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Mastering this continuous improvement mindset is exactly what transitions an intern into a world-class Plant Manager.
When interviewing for the P&G Manufacturing Internship, do not give generic answers about “working hard on the factory floor.” P&G engineers are obsessed with continuous improvement metrics. If you are asked how you would optimize a packing line, use the SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) framework. Explain that to reduce the “timing of changeover” between different product formulas, you would mathematically separate internal setup tasks (done while the machine is off) from external setup tasks (done while the machine is running). Furthermore, if discussing the Quality track, explicitly mention utilizing CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) when investigating a “non-standard” defect. Proving you already speak the technical language of Lean Manufacturing will instantly secure your acceptance.
Q: Which graduation years are eligible to apply for this P&G Engineering internship?
A: P&G strictly targets active Engineering Bachelor’s students who are officially scheduled to graduate in either December 2026 or June 2027.
Q: What specific manufacturing departments could I be placed in?
A: Depending on plant needs and your interview assessment, you will be placed into one of four highly technical tracks: Production (Packing), Production (Making), Quality Assurance, or Health, Safety & Environment (HSE).
Q: Is the P&G Summer Internship a paid program, and where is it located?
A: Yes, P&G explicitly offers a competitive compensation package in line with your qualifications. The internship is a full-time, on-site role located at the P&G plant in 6th of October City, Egypt.
