Managing real estate for a global retail giant like adidas goes far beyond simply picking store locations; it requires strict mastery of Lease Administration and the Business Process Management (BPM) contract workflows. When adidas opens a new franchise or initiates a massive store renovation, the financial liabilities—spanning rent structures, landlord invoices, and compliance with Emerging Markets guidelines—are extremely complex. Your ability to technically review a corporate lease agreement, extract critical legal comments, and track negotiated rent savings via an Excel dashboard ensures that the brand expands its retail footprint without bleeding unnecessary capital. Mastering this intersection of legal compliance, financial tracking, and physical store operations transforms an intern into a strategic corporate real estate analyst.
When interviewing for the adidas Real Estate Internship, hiring managers will aggressively test your cross-functional problem-solving skills. Do not just state that you have “good communication skills.” You must prove you can align conflicting stakeholders under pressure. If asked how you would handle a delayed store renovation due to a landlord dispute, explicitly outline your escalation workflow. Tell the interviewer: “I would first review the corporate lease agreement to pinpoint the exact legal liability, then immediately coordinate a status alignment between our internal Finance/Legal teams and the landlord’s leasing consultants to resolve the invoicing bottleneck.” Furthermore, explicitly mentioning that you would track any delayed penalties or “rent savings” on an Excel tracker will instantly prove you possess the sharp commercial acumen adidas requires.
