Introduction to the McKinsey Forward Opportunity: McKinsey.org is on a mission to share the best of McKinsey to help more people succeed. The McKinsey Forward program is a free, 10-week multi-week learning journey delivered in a digital and virtual format. Designed for individuals at different stages of their careers—from career starters to job changers—Forward equips learners with practical, must-have skills to succeed in the future of work, whether they are looking to reskill or advance. The program focuses on essential workplace skills that are relevant and transferable across all industries and roles.
Program Structure, Details, and Features:
The learning journey is completely free of charge and breaks down into two highly interactive levels:
1. Core Skills Level (Ten weeks, about 2 hours per week):
Participants will dedicate approximately two hours a week over ten weeks (totaling more than 16 hours) to develop practical skills through highly interactive, self-paced digital courses, case scenarios, assignments, reflection exercises, and virtual learning events. This level covers:
- Adaptability & Resilience: A digital course for developing the mindsets and habits that keep you adaptable and resilient, especially in times of change.
- Problem Solving: A digital course for defining problems and prioritizing tasks in a structured manner when faced with a new problem to solve.
- Communicating for Impact: A digital course for planning and structuring your communication to address different audiences to take action.
- Relationships & Well-being: A digital course for building strong workplace relationships and managing your well-being.
- Digital and AI Essentials: A digital course for building understanding and mindsets around digital and AI (including Generative AI and Agentic AI) with examples and tips to expand your toolkit.
- Lead Forward Webinar: A live webinar with McKinsey experts to go deeper into self-leadership skills and put learnings into practice.
- Digital Badge: Participants who complete the Core Skills level will earn a certificate of completion and a personalized McKinsey.org Forward digital badge, shareable across social media (e.g., LinkedIn) and other digital channels. (Note: McKinsey is not an accredited educational institution).
2. Network Level (Ongoing):
Upon completing the Core Skills level within the given time frame, graduates join a vibrant global network of lifelong learners. They gain exclusive access to further learning, networking activities, and volunteering opportunities to “pay it forward.”

Golden Tip by Recru: Since McKinsey conducts a strict verification process for eligibility prior to graduation, accuracy in your application is crucial. Recru advises you to be extremely precise when filling out your employment status and total years of experience. Ensure your LinkedIn profile matches the data you submit in the application to pass the verification seamlessly. Furthermore, since the program is self-paced, setting a strict weekly calendar reminder for your “2 hours of study” is the proven secret to actually earning your digital badge and not dropping out.
